Our Head Nurse Katharine is long standing member of our staff, having worked here for over 20 years! After training and qualifying at Bishops, she completed a Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing (Small Animal) in order to develop her skills further. Kath has a keen interest in supporting and developing student nurses as well as being really influential in ensuring the smooth day to day running of the practice and making sure that Bishops is a great place to work.
After a break during which she had her two sons, Toby and Milo, Kath is now Head Nurse again and while she is still part time, she has increased her days so we get to benefit from having her with us even more! You may have seen her dog Benji helping out on reception at various times and she is also kept busy at home with her three rescue cats. Kath is the primary Cat Advocate in the practice as part of our being an ISFM accredited silver Cat Friendly Clinic. One of her special interests in this field is hypertension and in her role as Hypertension Ambassador for the practice, Kath loves spending time with elderly cats making sure they are as comfortable and relaxed as possible to allow us to take their blood pressure measurements.
